Dr. Mariyam Zulfa Dismissed as LGA CEO, Appointed State Minister at Foreign Ministry

In a recent reshuffle, Dr. Mariyam Zulfa has been dismissed from her position as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Local Government Authority (LGA) and appointed as the State Minister at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The President's Office confirmed the change but did not provide a reason for her dismissal.

Dr. Zulfa previously served as the Tourism Minister in former Maldivian President Mohamed Nasheed's cabinet. After the administration's fall in 2012, she moved abroad and recently returned to the Maldives this year. Before her role at LGA, she was a Board Member of the National Parks Advisory Council in the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action in Melbourne, Australia.

Dr. Zulfa holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from Curtin Business School at Curtin University in Australia, a Master of Public and International Law (LLM) from the University of Melbourne, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Waikato University in New Zealand.
