MQA Sanctions Avid College and Clique College for Unauthorized Programs

The Maldives Qualification Authority (MQA) has taken disciplinary action against Avid College and Clique College for conducting courses without proper authorization.

The MQA announced that Clique College operated a 'Bachelor of Business Management' program through e-learning without the required permission, despite general e-learning permissions being revoked following a return to normal circumstances.

The penalties against Clique College include a fine of MVR 10,000, suspension of the program, withholding of certificate issuance, and a public statement clarifying that the program is not recognized under the National Qualifications Framework and violates accreditation standards.

Similarly, Avid College faced sanctions after numerous complaints were lodged regarding unpaid lecturers and additional fees charged to students. The MQA ordered Avid College to address these issues, denied accreditation for another program, and publicly stated that the program did not comply with the Department of Quality Framework (DQF) and accreditation standards.
