President Muizzu Confers National Award to 138 Recipients

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has presented the National Award for Public Service to 138 distinguished recipients during the official Independence Day function on Friday night.

The awardees received commemorative shields and badges in recognition of their exceptional service.

The National Award for Public Service honors government employees who have demonstrated competence, integrity, and dedication, serving the state for over 35 years and significantly contributing to their respective institutions. This year’s recipients also include long-serving public servants with over 45 years of service who had not previously been recognized.

The President’s Office meticulously compiled the service records of the recipients, and under the President’s directive, the National Awards Committee conducted a thorough vetting process to ensure eligibility. Among the 138 awardees, there are 30 women and 108 men.

The awards were conferred during Maldives' 59th Independence Day celebration on July 26, 2024. The National Awards Committee, responsible for vetting and selecting recipients, oversaw the selection of this year’s honorees.
