MDP Appoints Hisaan Hussain as Vice President

The decision was made with 40 members voting in favor during the MDP National Council meeting last night.

The proposal to appoint Hisaan, a lawyer by profession, was submitted by MDP President Abdulla Shahid. Shahid emphasized the need for more women in MDP leadership and highlighted Hisaan's suitability for the role.

Hisaan had been serving as the Legal Director of MDP and chaired the Parliament's Judiciary Committee and the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) during the 19th Parliament. She resigned from her post as Legal Director on Wednesday to assume her new role as Vice President.
