Police Trainee Discharged After Severe Food Poisoning at Addu Police College

The Maldives Police Service has confirmed that a trainee from the National College of Policing and Law Enforcement in Addu City has been discharged from Addu Equatorial Hospital (AEH) after recovering from severe food poisoning.

According to police reports, the individual who was discharged was one of two trainees admitted to the ICU due to the severity of their condition. Following improvement, this patient was moved to the general ward before being discharged.

The food poisoning incident occurred last Wednesday, affecting 32 police trainees at the college. Out of these, five were initially treated in the ICU due to critical conditions.

Local sources indicate that Best Selection, a catering company operating multiple restaurants in both Malé and Addu, provides food services to the college.

The Maldives Police Service is expected to continue monitoring the situation and ensuring the well-being of its trainees.
