Muli Faces Prolonged Power Outage: Council Reports on Ongoing Issues

Muli has been without electricity for over 24 hours, leaving residents in distress and frustration. According to an official statement from the Muli Council, the power outage began around 8:15 AM on Wednesday, and as of Thursday, the island's electricity has yet to be fully restored.

The official explained that the Fenaka team stationed on the island is diligently working to resolve the issue but has yet to pinpoint the exact cause of the outage. "The team has been working around the clock for 24 hours, but as soon as one problem is addressed, another arises. We cannot provide a specific timeline for when full electricity will be restored," the official said.

In the interim, the island's electricity supply is being managed by alternating power between different zones for 30-minute intervals. Despite these efforts, the regional hospital on the island is struggling to operate effectively due to the limited power supply. The hospital’s services have been significantly impacted, though it continues to receive some electricity.

Compounding the situation, the island's existing generators are described as old and worn out. While a new 600-kilowatt generator was delivered to the island earlier, it remains uninstalled.

Residents are growing increasingly desperate and angry over the extended outage, expressing frustration with the prolonged disruption to their daily lives. The Muli Council has assured the public that the Fenaka staff is working tirelessly to restore power as soon as possible, but the exact timing remains uncertain.
