Ibrahim Nazil Elected as MDP Parliamentary Group Leader

The Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) has elected South Hithadhoo constituency MP Ibrahim Nazil as the new Parliamentary Group (PG) Leader.

As the 20th People's Majlis convenes tomorrow, this will mark Nazil's second term in parliament. He is notably the only MDP member from Addu City constituencies to be re-elected in the recent parliamentary elections.

Alongside Nazil, Vaikaradhoo constituency MP Hussain Ziyad and Maradhoo constituency MP Ahmed Didi were elected as Deputy PG Leaders. North Galolhu constituency MP Mohamed Ibrahim has been chosen as Secretary General, with Maavashu constituency MP Ahmed Shakir as Deputy Secretary General. Thoddoo constituency MP Hussain Sameer has been appointed as Chief Whip, while Kanditheemu constituency MP Ameen Faisal and Keyodhoo constituency MP Mohamed Niushad will serve as Whips.

The oath-taking ceremony for the newly elected members of the 20th People's Majlis is scheduled for 09:00 hrs tomorrow.
