Local Dies Saving Tourist at Maldives Resort

The Maldives Police Service reported that the incident occurred around 11:00 AM. Faisal, 39, originally from Hithadhoo, Addu City, was pronounced dead upon arrival at the health center on the neighboring island of Dhan’gethi. The tourist, however, is reported to be in good condition.

The Maldives is currently experiencing the southwest monsoon, known as ‘Hulhan’gu’, which brings rough weather. The Maldives Meteorological Service (MET) has issued Orange Warnings across various regions, advising against sea travel unless absolutely necessary. Additionally, picnics on uninhabited islands and sandbanks are discouraged until conditions improve.
