Alia Bhatt Prepares for Basketball Role in Upcoming Film "Jigra"

Alia Bhatt's upcoming movie "Jigra" has been generating a lot of buzz, especially as it marks her solo lead venture after "Gangubai Kathiawadi." Joining her in this film is Vedang Raina, making his debut alongside Bhatt. While "Jigra" is a rescue drama centered around sibling love, recent reports reveal that Bhatt underwent extensive sports training for her role, specifically in basketball.

According to a recent article by Etimes, sources disclose that Alia Bhatt received rigorous coaching to grasp the nuances of basketball, including sessions with top players in the city. Both Alia and director Vasan Bala aimed for authenticity in the basketball scenes, which play a significant role in the film's narrative.

Reportedly, Alia dedicated extra time to mastering the game's fundamentals, such as dribbling, passing, and shooting. The production even enlisted a specialized basketball coach to choreograph these sequences, underscoring the commitment to accuracy.

"Jigra," produced by Alia Bhatt's Eternal Sunshine Productions in collaboration with Dharma Productions, is slated for release on September 27. Besides "Jigra," Alia has an array of other exciting projects lined up, including "Love & War" with Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal, a Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial. She also stars in a YRF spyverse action-thriller alongside Sharvari Wagh and the highly anticipated "Jee Le Zaraa" with Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra Jonas.
