Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's Legal Battle: Abuse Allegations and Winery Dispute

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are embroiled in a legal battle over their former joint ownership of a French winery, which has escalated with new allegations of abuse surfacing in recent legal filings.

In her latest motion filed with the Los Angeles Superior Court, Jolie claims that negotiations to sell her stake in the winery to Pitt fell through due to his insistence on her signing a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) prohibiting her from discussing his alleged abuse of her and their children. This comes amid Pitt's own lawsuit filed in 2022, where he alleged Jolie's sale of her stake in the winery was retaliatory after a custody ruling.

Jolie alleges that Pitt's history of abuse predates a 2016 plane incident, without providing further details. She asserts that Pitt's refusal to purchase her stake without the NDA exposes his misconduct and abuse, which she believes the NDA aimed to conceal.

While Jolie agreed to sign an NDA limited to not disparaging the winery's business initially, she claims Pitt proposed a broader NDA that she declined. Jolie's attorney, Paul Murphy, accuses Pitt of attempting to silence her and hide his abuse through legal maneuvers.

Despite the 2016 altercation, Jolie opted not to press charges against Pitt, believing it was best for him to take responsibility and assist in their family's recovery from the trauma.

The ongoing legal dispute, coupled with Pitt's alleged efforts to control and punish Jolie, takes a toll on both her and their family emotionally and financially. Jolie expresses a desire for healing and wishes for Pitt to share the same sentiment.

Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt in 2016, and while they were declared legally single in 2019, joint custody arrangements were finalized in 2021. The legal battle over the Miraval winery continues to unfold, adding complexity to their already tumultuous relationship.
