‘Sridevi didn’t want daughters Khushi and Janhvi to become actors, imagined their weddings

Actress Sridevi rose to prominence not only in Hindi cinema but also in Southern film industries. However, her husband, producer Boney Kapoor, revealed that this was not the life she envisioned for their daughters, Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor. Sridevi often discussed her daughters' future marriages, expressing her desire for them to have traditional weddings.

In an interview with News18’s Showsha, Boney Kapoor shared that Sridevi never intended for their daughters to pursue acting careers. Instead, she envisioned them entering other professions. He reminisced about how they used to attend weddings and imagine similar celebrations for Janhvi's marriage, hoping she would find a suitable partner.

Despite Sridevi's reservations, Janhvi Kapoor made her acting debut with the film "Dhadak" in 2018, following her mother's untimely passing. Khushi Kapoor also ventured into acting more recently, making her debut in Zoya Akhtar’s Netflix adaptation of "Archies" in 2023.

Boney Kapoor reflected on how their perceptions changed over time, noting that they never expected their daughters to pursue acting careers. He recalled how they envisioned Janhvi pursuing a career in medicine or another field until she expressed her desire to act, leading to her debut in "Dhadak."

Currently, Janhvi Kapoor is expanding her acting horizons, with projects in Telugu and Tamil cinema, alongside her existing Hindi film ventures
