High Number of Student Applications for School Transfers to Malé

Announcing details of the application process for admission and transfers in the upcoming academic year, the Ministry stated that forms were accepted until the 7th of this month, with responses expected to be issued by the 13th.

Key statistics from the Ministry's data include:

• 790 applications for transfers from atoll schools to Malé schools
• 2290 applications for Grade 1 admissions in Malé
• 1450 applications for admissions in other grades
• 660 applications for transfers within Malé schools

While annual transfers from atoll and island schools to Malé schools are common, all public schools in the country adhere to the same curriculum.

The new academic year is scheduled to commence on the 26th of this month.
