The Maldives frequently faces heavy rain showers and adverse weather conditions during both the southwest and northeast monsoons. These conditions often lead to uprooted trees, damaged roofs, and debris causing significant harm to houses. Additionally, the squally weather poses challenges for agriculture on some islands and presents hazards for seafarers and fishermen. Some islands have also reported swell wave surges during high tides.
