Bunkering Services Set to Transform Laamu Atoll

Mohamed Wajeeh Ibrahim, CEO of Maldives Ports Limited (MPL), has announced the upcoming introduction of bunkering services in Gaadhoo, Laamu Atoll, as a transformative project for the entire region.

During a ceremony held on Thursday, an agreement was signed with China's CAMCE to initiate bunkering services in Gaadhoo as part of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's ongoing trip to the atoll.

Wajeeh emphasized that this project, aligned with President Dr. Muizzu's economic agenda, reflects a level of consideration for the country's economy unprecedented in recent administrations.

Highlighting the Maldives' assets of pristine beaches and strategic geographical location, Wajeeh noted that the latter has remained largely untapped.

He assured that despite ongoing construction of three ports across the country, MPL is committed to advancing the work at the pace set by the President. Consequently, these projects will be completed and operational before the conclusion of President Dr. Muizzu's term.

Wajeeh expressed confidence that upon completion, these projects will attract customers with assurance and satisfaction.
